I wanted a garden that had lots of year round interest and colour but was fairly low maintenance. The garden has completely exceeded my expectations it is maturing at an amazing rate - I can hardly believe it was a muddy building site just 18 months ago! I love coming home and seeing the flowers bloom, and I’ve already enjoyed pears and plums from the fruit trees.
Being new to the world of gardening, I have received lots of advice and hands-on support from Erika to help the garden reach its full potential. It has been an interesting and fun experience seeing the garden created and I now have a special place to relax in my spare time. It really is Erika’s creation through and through, based on her client interview with me, and her artistic creativity and passion for plants shines through everywhere.
I have received lots of enthusiastic comments from friends about the garden and I feel the design really complements the house. There are woodland plant borders, an area with exotic jungle-like foliage, a huge colourful perennial border at the front of the house which looks great from early spring right through to late autumn, plus some lovely trees, both fruiting and ornamental.
Erika is very knowledgeable and enthusiastic and I enjoyed working together with her on the plans and during the planting. The conditions in the garden were challenging with heavily compacted clay and low water and light levels due to large neighbouring trees. Her good preparation of the soil and careful selection of plants has resulted in a virtually 100% plant success rate. I have had to do very little watering or weeding too!
