Hunt Garden Creations provides a friendly, professional and imaginative garden design service. The process of having your garden designed should be enjoyable and rewarding and care is taken to tailor designs to suit your budget and expectations.
You may want the entire garden re-designing and building, or just part of it, or you may be looking for a design-only solution to implement yourself.
Consultancy – If you have a problem area in your garden, a border that needs rejuvenating, or you need a planting scheme for some containers then advice, scale plans and planting lists can be provided. You can then make the changes to the garden yourself or have this managed for you.
Design – A full design service is provided from understanding your requirements and developing the initial ideas, to producing accurate scale plans and construction drawings enabling the design to be built.
To learn more about the stages involved please go to Design Process.
Project management – Hunt Garden Creations works with reputable local landscape contractors to implement designs and oversee the construction and planting. The tendering process and contracts are handled, all you need to do is settle with the contractor upon successful completion of each agreed stage of the project.
Aftercare – Once your garden has been completed, a maintenance plan can be produced to help you care for it with month-by-month instructions on everything from pruning to lawn care. Advice and suggestions are also available to help the planting establish successfully.
Following an initial consultation at your property, you will receive a proposal document which includes the design fees for each stage of the project.
The initial consultation is charged at £50 which is waived if the proposal is accepted.
Design services are charged at a fixed rate with amendments to designs calculated at an hourly rate shown in the proposal document. Project management and any additional services are also charged hourly. Travel costs will be applicable outside a 5 mile radius of Cambridge at the rate stated on the proposal.
Design fees represent a very small proportion of the total cost for a garden makeover, the brunt of the cost being labour, building materials and plants.
When considering how much to spend on a complete re-design, clients should treat the garden as a financial investment and budget for between 2-5% of the property value as a realistic investment figure.
